EXPO Human Resources Manager

Position Profile

Edmonton Economic Development (EEDC) cultivates the energy, innovation and investment needed to build a prosperous and resilient Edmonton Economy. EEDC will take over operations of the Edmonton EXPO Centre on January 1, 2018 to provide economic and social benefits for the community. The EXPO Centre is one of Edmonton’s convention and exhibition centres, places where people gather to learn, innovate, trade, and celebrate. We are looking for an experienced human resources professional to join our team as a Human Resources Manager.

Reporting to the EEDC VP of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager will work closely with our Corporate HR team to provide hands-on operational and strategic support to managers and employees with a primary focus at the Edmonton EXPO Centre.

Always focused on ensuring a positive, engaging work environment, the successful applicant should be committed to working with operational leaders to develop and apply consistent people practices throughout the Edmonton EXPO Division that align to EEDC’s organizational goals.  Always focused on continuous improvement and positive influence, the HR Manager will have their finger on the pulse and be able to provide proactive people solutions.

Job Details

The HR Manager will collaborate with the EXPO operational teams by providing direct support, guidance, and consultation on all people-related matters.

The ideal candidate has an HR generalist background who loves working in the business, has a consultative spirit, provides timely solutions and is results-oriented. As a people leader, you have experience managing change, developing and implementing effective people programs, and improving processes and procedures.  The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Collective Agreement administration and labour relations experience in a meetings, conventions, or exposition centre.
