We are searching for a strong innovative leader in the key role of Director Market Development, to join our team. You will lead a team charged with creating demand and increasing awareness of the destination and its original experiences, developing new product and experiences in-destination, driving itinerary days within international markets and delivering in-destination visitor services. The successful candidate will oversee travel media, travel trade, stakeholder relations, Edmonton experience and tourism development.
The Enterprise Edmonton division works with outbound local businesses who choose to take a risk and grow their business in new markets, making the leap from local to global.

How we help
Our team of Trade Managers works with client companies to explore growth opportunities that are the right fit.
We work collaboratively with our partners and clients to:
- Provide market intelligence research.
- Host information sessions on industry or geo-markets that local companies can investigate.
- Organize outbound missions to explore international opportunities.
- Find new facilities to expand.
- Demystify export logistics and making connections across our business support network.
Additionally, we also work to help identify broader trends and issues for local business. In 2017, EEDC facilitated discussions with downtown property owners and managers and other stakeholders about how to reduce downtown office vacancy rates. Edmonton is at an exciting point in time to foster a swell of tech startups, and Startup Edmonton plays a key role in this endeavor. The Program Facilitators will support and coach founders as they learn and go through the Startup Edmonton programs. These roles are full-time 12-month terms and would report directly to the Startup Edmonton Lead Program Manager.
