Edmonton, Alberta – May 2, 2016 – Ocean Odyssey Inland Fish Company is celebrating the expansion of their local seafood store in west Edmonton.
With support from Edmonton Economic Development’s Trade and Investment Team, Ocean Odyssey Inland has expanded their store to a new location, thanks to international trade opportunities with Iceland. The store now carries fresh Icelandic seafood, flown in on the IcelandAir flight within 6.5 hours.
The direct flight between Edmonton and Iceland on IcelandAir has opened up a market that was not previously available in Edmonton. In the case of Ocean Odyssey, the direct flight has brought a part of the Atlantic Ocean, and a new market, to the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.
“Ocean Odyssey is a successful growth story in the Edmonton market. Its success is reflective of the benefits of international trade, and we’re excited to have been a part of it.”
– Brad Ferguson, President & CEO, EEDC
“I appreciate the support, advice, and connections that have been shared with us at Ocean Odyssey Inland by the staff of EEDC. The organization’s experience is a valuable tool for businesses large and small.”
– Pat Batten, Founder, Ocean Odyssey Inland
