CEO Statement on Passing of Former Alberta Premier Jim Prentice
October 14, 2016 – Edmonton, AB – Today, Brad Ferguson, President and CEO, Edmonton Economic Development Corporation issued the following statement on the tragic death of former Alberta Premier, the Honourable Jim Prentice, P.C., Q.C., M.P.:
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic passing of former Premier Prentice.
I had the pleasure of working with him on a number of initiatives to grow Northern Alberta and Edmonton’s economy. A brilliant statesman, Jim’s love for our province, our country and most importantly, his family, shone through in everything he did.
Kathy and I express our deepest condolences to Karen, and all Jim’s family and friends. Our country has lost a great man today.”

May 2, 2016 – Ocean Odyssey moves inland
Edmonton, Alberta – May 2, 2016 – Ocean Odyssey Inland Fish Company is celebrating the expansion of their local seafood store in west Edmonton.
With support from Edmonton Economic Development’s Trade and Investment Team, Ocean Odyssey Inland has expanded their store to a new location, thanks to international trade opportunities with Iceland. The store now carries fresh Icelandic seafood, flown in on the IcelandAir flight within 6.5 hours.
