It’s a Team Sport

Win after win after win. That is what is being felt across the city at an unprecedented level. With a renewed confidence and kickstarted by moving forward with the new downtown arena decision, our city has been flooded by great news over the last six months.

New condominiums

New office towers

New museums

NorQuest expansion

MacEwen consolidation

Truth & Reconciliation Commission

Canadian track & field championships

Red Bull Crashed Ice

Commonwealth Games bid

New direct flight to Reykjavik, Iceland

New direct flight to Dallas-Ft.Worth

The list could go on and on, and there is much still to unveil. And it is a pleasure to serve on your behalf at EEDC as these pursuits come to reality.

But we win because we operate as a team.

Edmonton City Council, City of Edmonton, Province of Alberta, Government of Canada, Edmonton Chamber of Commerce, Edmonton International Airport, Regional Municipalities, Edmonton Tourism, Shaw Conference Centre, Post-Secondary Institutions, Edmonton Destination Hotel Operators, Northlands, Restauranteurs, Entrepreneurs, Business Owners, Volunteers and Edmontonians that care.

Every pursuit we undertake … every announcement we make … every interview we give … every article that is written … should list this whole Edmonton team that comes together to put our best foot forward.

I just wanted to make sure everyone knows this … and I just wanted to say thank you to all of them.

That is all.
