Since 2014, Mojo Design has been promoting the Edmonton design industry through Vignettes showcases, the first with furniture designed by University of Alberta students, then woodworkers, and 8×8 ft. spaces done by interior designers. Igniting the collaboration within the design communities, the Vignettes had been a success, and the team wanted to take their events to the next level.
In 2016, our Community Activation’s team partnered with Mojo Design Inc. to help execute and scale-up their fourth Vignettes event. We supported the team by securing a vacant space on 104 Street in the heart of downtown, extending the event to be longer than one evening, and adding a culinary component. Working alongside the Vignettes team over 8 months with event planning and logistics, EEDC helped with behind the scenes logistics and permits from AHS, AGLC, and the City of Edmonton. The additional support allowed the event to grow significantly, bringing over 1700 attendees through the space on opening night.
